Description

Project 7 links academics and trade union partners within the Research Alliance in developing education for union trustees on socially responsible investment of pension funds. Learning modules on topics relating to this topic should also be of use to a broader public with an interest in socially responsible investment of pension funds.

There will be twelve learning modules developed in total. The first modules will be based on some material available from partners to this Research Alliance (FTQ, OPSEU, SHARE, NUPGE, CSTIER). Later modules will be developed based on the research in Projects 1 through 6.

A central theme in adult education is transforming the role of learners from passive recipients of knowledge to active participants in the education process. One objective of this project is to address the needs of labour while transforming the role of learners from passive recipients of knowledge to active participants in the education process. Through the development of educational modules based on the research, in print and multimedia, this project will also attempt to address the appropriate balance between relevant content and learner involvement in the process.
